an introduction to life after the machine: as we pass from addiction to freedom, for addiction is surely the abscence of choice, we begin to live for ourselves. what we came from was not us. we are seperate now, capable of individual thought. no longer defined by the EM or the
EN, we are no longer ruled by intellectualizations or passionate anger. as we leave our family of origin, or the gang family we became addicted to, we now realize that the safety, security, and need we went searching for was really in front of us the whole time. a little older, and a little wiser, we return to society and the community and become constructive, rather than destructive, members of society. we are free to be human and individuals now.

    Dear Mom,
Unfortunately, we all have to come to that crossroads and make that decision to leave that lifestyle behind us. My only suggestion would be to somehow present to him some of the information available from this website. Please know that “Change is Possible”. No matter how far we have drifted off course in life we have found new strength and hope, through God, the 12 Steps of CGA and fellowship of others that have “been there and done that”.
Please feel free to contact our home office for literature in the event that your son would want to start a meeting in his area

I need your help locating former criminals and gang members who have access to facebook and want to help former child-soldiers for West Africa.

I do volunteer work with young people who have “lost their way”. I help them to restore their dignity and return from the ravages of violence, crime and drugs.

There is a group called Everyday Gandhis who help Ex-combatants (child soldiers) transform from warriors to guardians of the peace, guardians of the community and guardians of the environment.

I am starting a dialogue, a conversation, between Liberian ex-combatants who are changing their lives and American and international ex-gang members and “urban warriors” who are changing their lives.

I hope to begin this on Facebook, and hopefully get the funding to allow Liberians to come to USA and Europe and teach and learn as well as have others learn and teach in Liberia.

I think the sharing common experiences of healing the wounds of violence; teaching the ways of different wisdom paths and sharing the new ways of living will strengthen the commitments and create an expended community.

Please let me know if there are people who would be interested in this “global” exchange as we are just beginning and welcome all souls and all ideas. Please contact me on Face book http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1247828718
And I can direct you to the group.

May we all be blessed with peace,

    Gregory
